Blessings before Evening Shema`:

Appreciated! You are the Sacred One our God, Ruler of all existence,
by Whose word evenings come,
opening gates with wisdom,
altering periods with understanding,
changing the seasons,
ordering the stars in the constellations in the sky
according to the highest will.
rolling light away from darkness, and darkness away from light,
causing day to pass and bringing night,
separating between day and night:
Named ‘The Sacred One of Hosts’; the Sanctified One of Yisrael.
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One,
the One who brings the evenings.

With eternal love You have loved Your people Yisrael,
You have taught us Tora and instructions, statutes and ordinances.
Therefore Sacred One our God, in our lying down and in our rising,
we will discuss the statutes of Your will,
and we will be happy and rejoice
in the words of Your Tora, for all eternity,
for they are our life and the length of our days,
and we will meditate in them by day and night.
and may Your love never turn away from us for all eternity,
for it is a crown for our head.

loving the people Yisrael forever.

Read Shema` Yisrael...

...True belief, all this is established for us,
that the Sacred One is our God and we are Yisrael God’s people.
our true ruler, who there is nothing besides,
the One who redeems us from the power of kings,
Who delivers us from the hand of cruel tyrants,
the God who exacts vengeance for us from our oppressors,
and Who brings just retribution upon all enemies of our soul,
Who set our soul in life and did not allow our foot to falter,
Who led us upon the heights of our enemies,
and raised our pride above all who hate us.
The One who wrought for us vengeance upon Pharaoh,
signs and wonders on the land of the offspring of Ham,
Who struck with its anger all the firstborn of Misrayim
and brought Yisrael from their midst to eternal freedom.
The one who brought Its children
through the splitting of the Reed Sea,
and caused their pursuers and enemies to sink into the depths.
The children perceived God’s power,
and they gave thanks and praised the idea of God;
and they willingly accepted its reign upon themselves,
and they all answered with great joy and said unanimously:
“Who is similar to You, Sacred One, among authorities;
who is similar to You, majestic in the place of sanctity,
an awesome object of praises, acting wonderfully?
The Sacred One will reign forever and ever!
And it is said, “Our liberator is named 'the Sacred One of hosts,'
the Sanctified One of Yisrael.” (Yesha`ya 47:4)
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One, liberating Yisrael!

Lay us down to sleep in peace, Sacred One our God,

And be a protector for us and watch us,
and rescue us from every bad plague and terror of the night,
and break apart negativity from before us and from behind us.
And safeguard our coming and our going,
for You are our protector and our rescuer.
and shelter us in the shadow of Your wings,
as it is said, “Behold, the Guardian of Yisrael
neither slumbers nor sleeps”. (Tehillim 121:4)

Siddur Part 14 N:philath HaPanim

The custom is to fall on the face
and offer words of supplication and these verses,

sometimes all of them, and sometimes some of them.
Before You, do I bow and prostrate and supplicate -
Master of the world,
God of all heavenly forces, Master of all masters:
“We do not depend on our righteousness
in casting our supplications before You,
but rather on Your abundant mercies”. (Daniel 9:18)
“What can we say Sacred One? How can we speak?
And how can we justify ourselves”? (Bereshith 44:16)
“We have sinned, and have committed iniquity,
and have done evil and have rebelled,
and have deviated from your instructions
and from your judgments”. (Daniel 9:5)
“To You, Sacred One, is the righteousness,
and to us, faces of shame”. (Daniel 9:7)
Our faces are blackened because of our guilt,
Our stature is bent because of our iniquity;
We have no mouth to answer, we can not lift up our heads.
“My God, I am embarrassed
and ashamed to lift my face to you, my God;
for our iniquities have multiplied over our heads,
and our sins have mounted up to the heavens”. (Ezra 9:6)
We are worthy of no deeds.
Do righteousness with us for the sake of the idea of You,
as You promised us through Your spokesman:
“For the sake of the idea of Me will I restrain my wrath,
and for My praise will I withhold My anger from you,
that I not cut you down”. (Yeshaya 48:9)
“It is not for your sake that I act, House of Yisrael,
but for the sacred idea of Me”. (Yehezkel 36:22)
“Not to us, Sacred One, not to us, but to the idea of You give glory,
for Your kindness, and for Your truth.
Why should the nations say,
‘Where, now is their God’”? (Tehillim 115:1-2)
Please, Sacred One, “Look not to the stubbornness of this people,
nor to their wickedness, nor to their sin”. (Devarim 9:27)
“I beg You, forgive the iniquity of this people
according to the greatness of Your kindness,
and as you have forgiven this people,
from Misrayim until now”. (Bemidbar 14:19)
“For the sake of the idea of You, Sacred One,
pardon my iniquity; for it is great”. (Psalm 25:11)
“Sacred One, hear; Sacred One, forgive; Sacred One,
be attentive and act; do not delay,
for Your sake, my God; for the idea of You is proclaimed
upon Your city and Your people”. (Daniel 9:19)

Pick your head up from the ground and say:
As for us, we know not what to do - for our eyes are upon You.
“Recall Your compassion Sacred One, and Your kindness;
for they are eternal”. (Tehillim 25:6)
“Do not recall former iniquities against us;
may Your mercies quickly come to meet us;
for we are impoverished exeedingly”. (Tehillim 79:8)
“Arise, help us; and redeem us
for the sake of Your kindness”. (Tehillim 44:27)
“Let your kindness be upon us, Sacred One;
just as we awaited You”. (Tehillim 33:22)
“If You, God, preserve iniquities, my Master, who could stand?
But there is forgiveness with You;
that You may be revered”. (Tehillim 103:3-4)
“Save, Sacred One! The Ruler will answer u
on the day we call”. (Tehillim 20:10)
“For God knows our nature;
recalling that we are dust”. (Tehillim 103:14)
Help us, God of our salvation,
on account of the glory of the idea of You;
and save us, and forgive our sins,
for the sake of the idea of You. (Tehillim 79:9)

You are forever mighty, Sacred One; reviving the lifeless ones,

Reviving lifeless ones with many mercies;
healing those who are ill, supporting those who have fallen,

and confirming conviction for those who are “asleep in the dust.”
Who is similar to You, Master of mighty deeds,
and who is comparable to You, causing life and death?

Whose glory fills the entire land!” (Yesha`ya 6:3)

They praise and declare,
the glory of the Sacred One is appreciated from its place!

Appear from Your place, our ruler,
and rule over us, for we await You.
When will You reign in Siyon? In our lives, in our days.
(All):
Amen!
(Leader):
Sanctify Yourself amidst Your city Yerushalayim,
for every generation and era.
Our eyes will behold the rule of Your strength,
like the matter which was mentioned
in the songs of Your sanctuary,
by way of Dawid, anointed of righteousness,
(All):
“The Sacred One will rule forever –
your God, Siyon, for every generation – Halleluya!”
For every generation we will relate Your greatness
and for every era we will sanctify Your sacredness.
Your praise will not depart from our mouths
for You are a divine ruler, great and sacred.
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One, the sanctified God!

Shorter weekday prayer to say
when distracted,
pressured,
or have trouble reciting the full version fluently.

Only to be said in the Summer.
Grant us understanding, Sacred One our God to know Your ways;
And circumcise our hearts to fear You,
that we may be forgiven, that we may be redeemed,
Distance us from suffering,
and make us prosper and dwell in the oasises of Your land;
And may You gather the scattered ones from “the four”,
And judge the mistaken ones in accordance with Your knowledge;
And may Your "hand'” be raised up over those who are wicked,
And cause the righteous ones to rejoice in the building of Your city
and in the repairing of Your sanctuary,
and in the sprouting of the pride of Dawid Your servant,
and in the radiance of the lamp of the son of Yeeshai, Your messiah.
Before we call out, You answer. Before we speak, You hear.
For You are the one who answers at every moment of trouble,
redeeming and saving from all distress.

that You called him a faithfull servant,
You placed a crown of splendor on his head
when he stood before You on Mount Sinai,
Two tablets of stone he brought down in his hand
and written on them is the keeping of the Shabbath.
And so it is written in Your Tora,
“And the people of Yisrael will keep the Shabbath,
to observe the Shabbath throughout their generations,
for an everlasting covenant.
It is a sign between me and the people of Yisrael forever;
for in six days the Sacred One made heaven and earth,

To Moshe You instructed on Mount Sinai
the instruction of the Shabbath,
To offer to You the additional Shabbath offering, properly.
May it be Your highest will Sacred One our God,
that You bring us to our land, and plant us within our boundaries;
and there we will perform our obligated offerings before You,
the continual-offerings in their order,
and the additional-offerings according to their laws,
and the additional offering of this day of rest
we will perform and offer before You with love
according to the instruction of Your will,
as You have written for us in Your Tora
by the hand of Moshe Your servant.
Our Ruler, You did not give it to the nations of the lands,
and our Ruler, You did not make it the inheritance
of the worshippers of graven idols,
in its contentment, the uncircumcised will not abide:
You have given it to the House of Yisrael,
the offspring of Jeshurun in whom You have chosen;
“Most desirable of days”, You called it.
Our God and the God of our ancestors - please find favor in our rest,

“And who is like Your people Yisrael,
one nation on earth.” (I Divrei HaYamim 17:21)
The crown of praise and the splendor of salvation,
You have given to Your people;
Avraham would rejoice, Isaac would exalt,
Ya`aqov and his children would rest on it,
a perfect rest in which you find favor.
May Your children recognize and know
that their rest comes from You;
Calm us, our Parent, so that there be no distress
or grief on this day of our contentment.
Our God and the God of our ancestors - please find favor in our rest,
sanctify us with Your instructions,
and grant us our share in Your Tora,
and gladden our souls with Your salvation,
and satisfy us from Your goodness
purify our heart to serve You sincerely;
and grant us a heritage with love and favor,
Your sacred Shabbathoth,
and may all of Yisrael who love the idea of You rest on it.
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One, sanctifying the Shabbath!
Find favor...

On Saturday night:
You grace people with knowledge,
and teach comprehension to the mortal;
and You have distinguished between the sacred and the mundane,
and between light and darkness,
and between Yisrael and the nations,
and between the seventh day and the six days of work.
Just as You have distinguished
between the sacred and the mundane,
so too redeem us and save us from all kinds of destruction,
and from all kinds of disasters that surge upon the world;
and protect us from everything,
and grace us from Yourself knowledge
and comprehension and discernment.
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One,
graciously giving knowledge!
Return us...

in all the work of our hands, and bless our year
and provide dew and rain for the face of the soil,
and satiate the entire world from Your goodness,
and soak the face of the earth
from the riches of the gifts of Your hand;
And guard the shadow, Sacred One our God,
for this year and for all types of grain,
from all kinds of destroyers and from all types of avengers;
And give it a future, and hope, satiation, and peace,
and blessing, like the years of goodness.
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One, blessing the years!

and rely on Your salvation.
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One,
Reliance and Assurance to the righteous!

Appreciated! You are the Sacred One,
causing the pride of salvation to sprout forth!

Hear our voice Sacred One our God,
pity and have compassion on us,
and receive our prayer with compassion and favor.
Do not turn us away empty from before You, our Ruler.
For You hear the prayer of every mouth.
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One, hearing prayer!

17
Find favor in Your people Yisrael, Sacred One our God,
and have concern for their prayers;
And restore the most sacred service to Your temple,
and quickly accept the fire-offerings of Yisrael
and their prayers with love and favor,
and may the service of Your people Yisrael always be favorable.
And may we be favored, and let our eyes behold
the returning of Your beauty to Siyon in compassion, as it once was.
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One,
bringing back its Presence to Siyon!

18
(Bow down onto the knees;
stand up before saying “the Sacred One”)

We give thanks to You, that You are the Sacred One our God,
rock of our lives, protector of our salvation;
You are from generation to generation.
We will thank You and recount Your praise
for our lives that are committed into Your hand,
and for our souls that are entrusted to You,
for Your miracles and Your wonders
that are at every moment and time,
evening, and morning, and noon.
You are Good, for Your compassions are not exhausted;
Compassionate One, for your kindness never ends.
All living things praise the great idea of You,
for good, the God who is good.
(Bow down onto the knees;
stand up before saying “the Sacred One”)
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One,
the idea of You is good, and it is proper to give thanks to You!

Tora and life, love and kindness, righteousness and peace,
And may it be good in Your eyes,
to bless Your People Yisrael at every moment with peace.
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One,
the One who blesses the people Yisrael with peace.
(Bow down onto the knees)
Amen.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be favorable before You, Sacred One, my "Rock” and my redeemer.
(Psalm 19:15)
(Take three steps back while remaining bowed;
then bow “giving Shalom” to the left and to the right)

Siddur Part 12 G:ula

This matter is true and determined, correct and enduring,
straightforward and convincing, beloved and dear,
delightful and pleasant, awesome and majestic,
established and accepted, good and beautiful for us, forever.

It is true that our Ruler is the God of the universe,
the Rock of Ya'aqov and defender of our salvation.
Who has endured for each generation
and the idea of Whom has endured,
whose throne is prepared
and whose reign and ideology are established.
Whose words live, and are forever convincing – for all eternity!
For us and our ancestors, for our children and all our generations –
For the earlier generations, and for the later generations
– it is a good thing that is established in truth,
a decreed custom that is never broken.
It is true that You are indeed the Sacred One,
our God and the God of our ancestors,
our Ruler and the Ruler of our ancestors,
our liberator and the liberator of our ancestors,
our shaper and the shaper of our salvation, redeeming and saving us;
forever, this has been the idea of You –
and we have no other God beside You.

You have forever been the help of our ancestors,
defender and savior for their children after them in every generation.
At the height of the universe You dwell,
and Your justice and Your righteousness
are until the ends of the earth.
It is true that the person who heeds Your instructions is fortunate,
placing Your Tora and Your word upon the heart.

It is true that You are a Master to your people,
a mighty Ruler who takes up the cause of parent and child.
It is true that You are the first and You are the last,
and there is no savior aside from You.
It is true that you liberated us from Misrayim, Sacred One our God,
and redeemed us from the institution of slavery,
You killed every Misrayimian firstborn with the plague,
while You liberated Your firstborn; You split the Reed Sea,
and drowned the malicious ones,
while Your friends passed through the sea –
the water covered those who had caused them suffering,
until not one was left.
It is upon this that the liberated ones praised and exalted God,
that the friends gave meter and song,
praises to the living, enduring, and ruling God.
Exalted and upraised; great, mighty, and awesome;
lowering the haughty down to earth.
uplifting the low up to the heights,
releasing the confined, redeeming the humble,
helping the impoverished,
answering the people of Yisrael at the time of their plea.

Praise to the Most High, Who is appreciated!
Moshe and all the children of Yisrael
spoke poetry to you with so much happiness; all declared,
“Who is similar to You, Sacred One, among authorities;
who is similar to You, majestic in the place of sanctity,
an awesome object of praises, acting wonderfully?
The Sacred One will rule forever and ever!”
And it is said, “Our liberator is named 'the Sacred One of hosts,'
Sanctified One of Yisrael.”
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One, who liberated Yisrael!

Siddur Part 11 Ahavath `Olam - Sh:ma`

Sacred One, our God, Your love for us is an eternal love;
Your compassion for us is exceedingly great.
Our parent, our Ruler: For the sake of the idea of You,
and for the sake of our ancestors who trusted in You,
and You taught them the customs of life –
so may You favor us, our compassionate parent.
The One who shows mercy – please have mercy upon us,
and place in our hearts the inclination to discern, to conceptualize,
to listen, to study, to teach,
to keep, to perform, and to actualize
all the studied words of Your Tora with love.
Enlighten our eyes with Your instructions
and make our hearts cleave to the awe of You,
and unify our hearts to love the idea of You.
You alone will quickly rule over us,
for we are truly called by the sacred idea of You;
and for the sake of the idea of You –
the kind, the mighty, the awesome God –
quickly in love raise our glory
and save us for the sake of the idea of You.
Unembarrassed, we trust in You;
unashamed, we seek refuge in the idea of You,
and we will never falter –
for You are our parent and our Ruler,
and we rejoice and are happy with Your salvation.
Do not remove Your mercies and kindnesses from us,
Sacred One, our God, forever triumphant.
Bring blessing and peace upon us from the four corners of the earth,
and actually bring us to our land with haste.
For You have selected us from every people and language,
and brought us close to the great idea of You,
to thank You, and for Your unity and exaltedness,
and to love the idea of You.
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One,
the One who lovingly selects the people of Yisrael!

'Listen, Yisrael; the Sacred One is our God –
the Sacred One is utterly singular.' (Devarim 6:4)
The idea of the glorious majesty of the One
is appreciated for all eternity.
Love the Sacred One your God with all your heart,
all your soul, and all your potential.
Keep these words which I instruct you today upon your heart.
Review them often with your children, and speak them -
when you are sitting in your house, walking on the way,
when you lie down, and when you rise.
Bind them for a sign upon your hand;
and they will be reminders between your eyes.
Write them upon the doorposts of your house and your gates.

And it will be, if you will fully heed My instructions
which I instruct you today,
to love the Sacred One your God whom you will serve;
with all your heart and with all your soul,
And I will give you the rain of your land in its due season,
the early rain and the late rain,
that you may gather in your grain, and your wine, and your oil.
And I will provide grass in your fields for your cattle;
and you will eat and be satisfied.
Guard yourselves, lest your heart be tempted,
and you turn away, and you will serve the gods of others,
and submit yourselves to them;
And the anger of the Sacred One will be kindled against you,
and the heavens will be shut, and there will be no rain,
and the ground will not give its fruit;
and you will perish quickly from upon the good land
which the Sacred One gives to you.
You will place these my words upon your heart and upon your soul,
Bind them for a sign upon your hand,
that they may be as reminders between your eyes.
Teach them to your children, to speak of them -
when you are sitting in your house, walking on the way,
when you lie down, and when you rise.
Write them upon the doorposts of your house, and your gates;
So that your days will increase, and the days of your children,
upon the land that the Sacred One swore
to your ancestors to give them,
as the days of heaven upon the earth.

And the Sacred One spoke to Moshe, saying,
Speak to the children of Yisrael, and tell them,
to make for themselves sisith
on the corners of their garments through the generations,
and to put upon the sisith of the corners a thread of tekheleth;
And they will be to you for sisith, that you will see it,
and remember all the instructions
of the Sacred One, and follow them;
and you will not follow after your heart and after your eyes,
which cause you to go astray;
So that you will remember, and follow all My instructions,
and you will be sacred to your God.
I am the Sacred One your God,
who brought you out of the land of Misrayim, to be your God;
I am the Sacred One your God.

Siddur Part 10 YoSer

Appreciated! You are the Sacred One, our God, Ruler of all existence,
“Shaping light and creating darkness,
making peace and creating everything.” (Yesha`ya 44:7)
The one who illuminates the land and all who live on it,
the One who perpetually renews the act of creation every day.
“How numerous are Your works, You made all of them with wisdom,
Your possessions fill the land.” (Tehillim 104:24)
The exalted Ruler, the idea of Whom existed alone
at the beginning of time,
the One who is worthy of praises, glorification, magnification,
and exceedingly good since the beginning of the world.
Our Ruler, God of the world,
have compassion on us with Your abundant mercies.
Master of our strength, Rock of our fortress,
defender of our salvation, and a fortress for our sake.
Appreciated God of great knowledge,
having prepared and made the brilliance of the sun,
having shaped goodness in honor of the idea of You,
having placed luminaries surrounding Your strength,
the leaders of the sacred hosts, the exalted of God,
continuously recounting the sanctity of the One.
Sacred One, our God, You will make Yourself appreciated
in the heavens above and on the earth below,
and upon every praise of Your handiwork,
and the luminaries which You formed – they will glorify You!
You will make Yourself forever appreciated, our Rock, our Ruler,
our Liberator, creating sacred ones.
The idea of You will be forever raised in praise, our Ruler,
forming servants who serve by standing at the top of the world
and sounding their voice in unison
with the words of the living God, Ruler of all existence.
All are beloved, all are bright with clarity, all are mighty,
reverentially doing the will of their creator with love.
All accept upon themselves the “guiding yoke”
of heavenly sovereignty from each other,
giving each other permission to declare the sanctity of their Rock
with a settled spirit, with clear speech, and pure breath.
All answer as one and reverently declare,
“Sacred! Sacred! Sacred! is the Sacred One of hosts,
Whose glory fills the entire land!” (Isaiah 6:3)
In unison, the sublime orbits and the lifeforces of the Temple
raise themselves up opposite each other,
praising and declaring,
“The glory of the Sacred One
is appreciated from its place!” (Ezekiel 3:12)
They will offer melodies to the blessed God,
they will sing songs and make their praises heard by God,
the ruling life and being,
for the One alone does mighty deeds, making innovations,
sowing righteousness, sprouting salvation,
Master of wonders, perpetually renewing
the act of creation every day.
As it says, “To the maker of the great lights,
for the kindness of the One is eternal!” (Tehillim 136:7)
You established the luminaries to bring the world joy.
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One, shaping the luminaries!

Siddur Part 9 Ha'azinu

Ha'azinu (The Song of Moshe) - Devarim 32

Heavens give ear, and I will speak;
Earth, listen to the words of my mouth.
My teaching will drop as the rain,
my speech will distill as the dew;
as the small rain upon the tender herb,
and as the showers upon the grass;
For I will proclaim the idea of the Sacred One;
ascribe greatness to our God.
The Rock, Whose work is perfect;
for all the ways of the One are just;
God of truth and without iniquity,
Righteous and upright is the One.
Not corrupted, but the children are blemished;
a perverse and crooked generation.
Is this what you do to the Sacred One,
you foolish and unwise people?
Is the One not your Parent your Master?
Has the One not made you, and established you?

Remember the days of old,
consider the years of many generations;
ask your father, and he will show you,
your elders, and they will tell you.
When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance,
and set apart the sons of Adam,
and set the borders of the people
according to the number of the people of Yisra'el.
For the portion of the Sacred One is the people;
Ya`aqov is the lot of inheritance.
Who found him in a desert land,
and in the waste howling wilderness;
led him about, instructed him,
and kept him as the pupil of the eye.
As an eagle stirs up its nest,
flutters over its young,
spreads out its wings, takes them,
bears them on its pinions;
So the Sacred One alone did lead him,
and there was no strange god with him.

Causing him to ride on the high places of the earth,
and he ate the produce of the fields;
and made him suck honey out of the rock,
and oil out of the flinty rock;
Butter of cows, and milk of sheep,
with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats,
with the fat of kidneys of wheat;
and you did drink the wine of the pure blood of the grape.
But Jeshurun became fat, and kicked,
you have become fat, you have become thick,
you are covered with fatness,
then he forsook God who made him,
and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
They provoked jealousy with strange “gods”,
provoking anger with their abominations.
They sacrificed to powerless spirits, not to God;
to “gods” whom they did not know;
to new “gods” that came newly up,
whom your parents feared not.
Of the Rock that parented you you are unmindful,
and have forgotten God who formed you.

The Sacred One saw it, and loathed them,
because of the provocation of the sons, and the daughters.
And said, ‘I will hide My presence from them,
I will see what their end will be;
for they are a very perverse generation,
children in whom there is no faith.
They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God;
they have angered me with their vanities;
and I will move them to jealousy with those who are not a people;
I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.
For a fire is kindled in My anger,
and will burn to the lowest part of Sheol,
and will consume the earth with her produce,
and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.
I will heap evils upon them;
I will spend my arrows upon them.
They will be wasted with hunger,
and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction;
I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them,
with the poison of crawling things of the dust.
The sword will destroy outside,
and terror inside,
both the young man and the virgin,
the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.
I said, I would scatter them into corners,
I would make the remembrance of them
to cease from among mortals;
Were it not that I feared the anger of the enemy,
lest their adversaries should judge amiss,
and lest they should say, Our hand is high,
and the Sacred One has not done all this.
For they are a nation void of counsel,
nor is there any understanding in them.

Would it have been that they were wise, that they understood this,
that they would consider their latter end!
How should one chase a thousand,
and two put ten thousand to flight,
unless their Rock had sold them,
and the Sacred One had shut them up?
For their rock is not as our Rock,
even our enemies themselves being judges.
For their vine is of the vine of Sodom,
and of the fields of Gomorrah;
their grapes are grapes of gall,
their clusters are bitter;
Their wine is the fierceness of crocodiles,
and the cruel venom of asps.
Is not this laid up in store with me,
and sealed up among my treasures?
To me belongs vengeance, and recompense
when their foot will slip;
for the day of their calamity is at hand,
and the things that will come upon them make haste.’
For the Sacred One will judge the people,
and repent for the servants,
when it is seen that their power is gone,
and there is none shut up, or left.
And the One will say, where are their “gods”,
their rock in whom they trusted,
Those who ate the fat of their sacrifices,
and drank the wine of their drink offerings?
Let them rise up and help you,
and be your protection.
See now that I, I am the One,
and there is no god with me;
I cause death, and I bring to life,
I wound, and I heal;
nor is there any who can deliver out of my hand.

For I lift up my hand to heaven,
and say, I live forever.
If I whet my glittering sword,
and my hand takes hold on judgment;
I will render vengeance to my enemies,
and will requite those who hate me.
I will make my arrows drunk with blood,
and my sword will devour flesh;
with the blood of the slain and of the captives;
with the head of the wild bands of the enemy.
Rejoice, you nations, with the people,
for the blood of the servants will be avenged,
and will render vengeance to the adversaries,
and will make expiation for the land of the people.

And Moshe came
and spoke all the words of this poem in the ears of the people,
he, and Hoshea the son of Nun.
And Moshe finished
speaking all these words to all Yisrael;
And he said to them, Set your hearts
to all the words
which I testify among you this day;
which you will instruct your children
to take care to do,
all the words of this Tora.
For it is not a vain thing for you,
because it is your life;
and through this thing
you will prolong your days in the land,
where you go over the Jordan to possess it.

And the Sacred One spoke to Moshe that same day, saying,
Go up to this Mountain Avarim, to Mount Nevo,
which is in the land of Moab,
that is opposite Yeriho;
and behold the land of Cana`an,
which I give to the people of Yisrael for a possession;
And die in the mount where you go up,
and be gathered to your people;
as Aaron your brother died in Mount Hor,
and was gathered to his people;
Because you trespassed against me
among the people of Yisrael
at the waters of Meribah-Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin;
because you did not sanctify me
in the midst of the people of Yisrael.
Yet you will see the land before you;
but you will not go there
to the land which I give the people of Yisrael.

Siddur Part 8 YishtabaH - Shirath HaYam

Forever praised is the idea of You our Ruler,
the great and sacred Ruler in heaven and earth:
Sacred One our God, for it is proper to express to You:
Poetry and praise, song and music, appreciation and thanks,
eternity, strength, greatness, praise and beauty
might, majesty and royalty, from now until forever.
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One Our God, Ruler of all existence,
Ruler, great with praises, God of thanksgiving, Master of all deeds,
the One who chooses songs of praise, Life of the worlds.

There are customs to recite every day the Song at the Sea,
the Song Ha`azinu, or both:
Song at the Sea - Shemoth 14:30
The Sacred One saved Yisrael that day from the hand of Misrayim;
and Yisrael saw Misrayim dead upon the sea shore.
And Yisrael saw the great command
which the Sacred One took upon Misrayim;
The people feared the Sacred One;
and believed the Sacred One, and servant Moshe.
Then Moshe and the people of Yisrael sang this song
to the Sacred One, and they declared, saying;
I will sing to the Sacred One, for this incredible triumph;
horse and his rider thrown into the sea.
God is my strength and song, and has become my salvation;
This is my God, Who I will declare glorious;
the God of my ancestors, Who I will hold in the greatest esteem.
The Sacred One is master of war; this is the idea of the Sacred One.
Pharaoh’s chariots and army have been thrown into the sea;
his chosen captains also drowned in the Sea of Reeds.
The depths have covered them;
they sank to the bottom like a stone.
Sacred One, Your manipulative force is glorious in power;
Sacred One, Your manipulative force
has dashed the enemy into pieces.
And in the greatness of Your excellency
You have overthrown those that rose up against You;
You sent forth Your anger, which consumed them like stubble.
With the blast of Your wind the waters were gathered,
the floods stood upright as a heap,
and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.
The enemy said, I will pursue,
I will overtake, I will divide the plunder;
my lust will be satisfied upon them;
I will draw my sword, my hand will destroy them.
You blew with Your wind, the sea covered them;
they sank as lead in the mighty waters.
“Who is similar to You, Sacred One, among authorities;
who is similar to You, majestic in the place of sanctity,
an awesome object of praises, acting wonderfully?
You used Your manipulative force, and the earth swallowed them.
In Your mercy You led forth the people You redeemed;
You guided them in strength to Your sacred habitation.
The people will hear, and be afraid;
sorrow will take hold on the inhabitants of Pelasheth.
Then the chiefs of Edom will be amazed,
trembling will take hold upon the mighty men of Moav;
all the inhabitants of Canaan will melt away.
Fear and dread will fall upon them;
by Your great outstretch they will be still as a stone;
until Your people pass over, Sacred One,
until the people pass over, whom You have claimed.
You will bring them in,
and plant them in the mountain of your heritage,
in the place which You have made for You to dwell, Sacred One,
the Sanctuary, Master, which You have established in Your control.
The Sacred One will reign forever and ever!
When the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots
and with his horsemen into the sea,
and the Sacred One brought the waters of the sea back upon them;
but the people of Yisrael went into the midst of the sea on dry land.

Miriam the prophetess, sister of Aaron,
took the tambourine in her hand;
and all the women went out after her with tambourines and dancing.
And Miriam answered them,
Sing to the Sacred One, for this incredible triumph;
horse and his rider thrown into the sea.

So Moshe brought Yisrael from the Reed Sea,
and they went out into the wilderness of Shur;
and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.
When they came to Marah,
they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter;
therefore its name was called Marah.
And the people complained against Moshe,
saying, What will we drink?
And he cried to the Sacred One;
and the Sacred One showed him a tree,
which when he threw into the waters, and made the waters sweet;
a statute and an ordinance was made for them there,
and there they were tested.
And said the One, ‘If you will diligently listen to the voice
of the Sacred One your God,
do what is right in the sight of the One,
give ear to the instructions, and keep all the statutes,
I will put none of these diseases upon you,
which I have brought upon Misrayim;
for I am the Sacred One that heals you’.

Siddur Part 7 Nishmath kol Hhai

It is customary to add this on Shabbath:

The soul of all life will appreciate the idea of You,
Sacred One our God.
The spirit of all flesh will proclaim You glorious,
and Your remembrance will always be of highest esteem, our Ruler.
Through the generations forever eternally,
You are God and besides You there is no God;
and in all times of distress and anguish we have no Ruler,
Redeemer, or Savior, but You.
Liberator and Rescuer, Sustainer and Merciful One,
God of all creatures;
Master of all generations is the One who is extolled in praises,
Who guides the World with kindness
and the creatures with much compassion.
And the Sacred One, our one true God,
neither slumbers nor sleeps;
the One who rouses the sleepers and awakens the drowsy,
supporting the fallen, and healing the sick, and releasing the bound,
and to You, we give our thanks.
If our mouth were filled with poetry as the sea,
and our tongue with joyous song as the roaring waves;
Our lips with praise as the expanse of the heavens,
and our eyes as brilliant as the sun and the moon,
Our hands spread forth like the eagles of the sky,
and our feet as swift as the deer -
still we could not fully thank You Sacred One our God,
or appreciate the idea of You our Ruler.
For even one of the thousand thousands of thousands
and myriad myriads of myriads of favors,
that You performed for us and for our ancestors in days gone by:
You redeemed us from Misrayim Sacred One our God,
and liberated us from the institution of slavery,
You nourished us in famine,
and sustained us in plenty, and saved us from the sword,
and let us escape from plague,
and spared us from severe and persistent diseases;
Your mercy has helped us all along Sacred One our God,
and Your kindness has not forsaken us.
Therefore the organs that You implanted within us,
and the spirit and soul that You breathed into our nostrils,
and the tongue that You placed in our mouth -
all of them will thank and appreciate the idea of You
Sacred One our God, for Your great miraculous wonder.
For every mouth will give thanks to You
and every tongue give You praise,
every eye will look to You; and every knee will bend,
every straight spine will prostrate to You,
and every heart will fear,
and our innermost depths will sing praises to the idea of You,
As it is said, “All my limbs will say,
‘Who is similar to You, Sacred One?’,
You rescue the poor from one who is stronger;
the poor and needy from one who robs.”
And it is said, “Sing joyfully of the Sacred One, righteous ones;
for praise is fitting for the upright.”
You will be highly esteemed by the mouth of the upright,
appreciated by the words of the righteous,
the tongue of all the pious express Your sanctity,
and amidst the sacred will you be lauded,
Sacred One our God, the idea of You will be glorified
in the assemblies of the myriads of Your people,
the entire House of Yisrael,
for this is the duty of all creatures towards You,
Sacred One our God,
to thank and laud, to praise and declare glorious,
to exalt and proclaim great,
and to adore beyond all the poetry and songs and praises
of Dawid son of Yishai Your servant, Your anointed.

Siddur Part 6 Halelu-Yah!

Halelu-Yah! My soul, praise the Sacred One!
I will praise the Sacred One while I live;
I will sing praises to my God while I exist.
Do not put your trust in princes, nor in a human being,
in whom there is no salvation.
Whose breath goes forth, and returns to the earth;
whose thoughts will perish on that day.
Fortunate is one whose help is in the God of Ya`aqov,
whose hope is in God, the Sacred One.
Who made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that is in it;
who keeps truth for ever;
Who executes judgment for the oppressed;
Who gives food to the hungry.
The Sacred One frees the captives;
The Sacred One opens the eyes of the blind;
the Sacred One straightens those who are hunched over;
the Sacred One loves the righteous;
The Sacred One protects the strangers;
encouraging the orphan and the widow;
but makes the way of the wicked crooked.
The Sacred One will reign for ever, your God, Siyon,
to all generations, Halelu-Yah!

Halelu-Yah! For it is good to sing praises to our God;
for it is pleasant; and praise is fitting.
The Sacred One builds up Yerushalayim;
and gathers together the outcasts of Yisrael.
The One who heals the broken hearted,
and binds up their wounds.
Who counts the number of the stars;
and calls them all by names.
Great is our Master, and of great power;
of infinite understanding.
The Sacred One lifts up the humble;
and casts the wicked down to the ground.
Sing to the Sacred One with thanksgiving;
sing praise to our God upon the harp;
Who covers the heaven with clouds,
Who prepares rain for the earth,
Who makes the mountains sprout with grass.
Giving food to the beast, and to the young ravens that cry out.
Without delight in the strength of the horse;
without favoring the legs of a man.
The Sacred One takes pleasure in the reverent ones,
in those who hope in the kindness of the One.
Praise the Sacred One, Yerushalayim; praise your God, Siyon.
For the the bars of your gates have been strengthened;
and your children within you have been blessed by the One.
The One who makes peace in your borders,
and satiates you with the cream of the wheat.
The One who sends forth instruction upon earth;
Whose word runs very swiftly.
The One who gives snow like wool;
and scatters frost like ashes.
Casting forth ice like morsels;
who can stand before the coldness of the One?
Who sends out the word, and melts them;
and causes wind to blow, and the waters flow.
Who declares the word to Ya`aqov,
statutes and judgments to Yisrael.
This has not been done with any other nation;
and they have not known these judgements, Halelu-Yah!

Halelu-Yah! Praise the Sacred One from the heavens;
praise the One in the heights.
Praise the One, all the angels; praise the One, all the host.
Praise the One, sun and moon;
praise the One, all you stars of light.
Praise the One, heavens of heavens,
and the waters that are above the heavens.
Let them praise the idea of the Sacred One;
for the One instructed, and they were created.
And they were established by the One for ever and ever;
with a decree that will not be broken.
Praise the Sacred One from the earth,
sea giants, and all watery depths;
Fire, and hail; snow, and vapors;
stormy wind fulfilling the word;
Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars;
Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and winged birds;
Kings of the earth, and all peoples;
princes, and all judges of the earth;
Young men and also virgins; old men, and children;
Let them praise the idea of the Sacred One;
for the idea of whom is uniquely exalted;
With glory above the earth and heaven.
Raising the pride of the people, a praise for all the pious ones,
for the children of Yisrael, a people brought close. Halelu-Yah!

Halelu-Yah! Sing a new song to the Sacred One,
Whose praise is sounded in the congregation of the pious.
Let Yisrael rejoice in its Maker;
let the children of Siyon be joyful in their Ruler.
The idea of Whom will be praised in their dance;
to Whom they will sing praises with the tambourine and harp.
For the Sacred One takes pleasure in its people;
and will beautify the humble with salvation.
Let the pious be joyful in glory;
let them sing aloud upon their beds.
Let the high praises of God be in their mouth,
and a two edged sword in their hand;
To execute vengeance upon the nations,
and chastisement upon the peoples;
To bind their kings with chains,
and their nobles with fetters of iron;
To execute upon them the judgment written;
this is an honor to all the pious ones. Halelu-Yah!

Halelu-Yah! Praise God in the sanctuary!
Praise the One in the firmament of Its power!
Praise the One for mighty acts!
Praise the One according to Its exceeding greatness!
Praise the One with the sound of the shofar!
Praise the One with the lyre and the harp!
Praise the One with the tambourine and dance!
Praise the One with stringed instruments and the pipe!
Praise the One with sounding cymbals!
Praise the One with loud crashing cymbals!
Let every thing that breathes praise the Sacred One! Halelu-Yah!

May the Sacred One be appreciated forever, Amen and Amen.
The Sacred One will reign forever, Amen and Amen.
And Dawid expressed His appreciation of the Sacred One
before all the congregation; and Dawid said,
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One, God of Yisrael our Parent,
from now until forever.
Yours, Sacred One, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory,
and the victory, and the majesty;
for all that is in heaven and in earth;
the majesty is Yours, Sacred One;
and you are exalted as head above all.
Riches and honor come from You, and You reign over all;
and in Your “hand” is power and might;
and in Your “hand” it is to make great, and to give strength to all.
Now therefore, our God, we thank you,
and praise the glorious idea of You.
May the glorious idea of You be appreciated,
which is exalted above all blessing and praise.

Siddur Part 5 Y:hi Kh:vod, T:hila l:Dawid

Forever is the glory of the Sacred One,
the Sacred One rejoices in deeds.
Express appreciation to the idea of the Sacred One
from now until forever!
From sunrise to sunset, the idea of the Sacred One is to be praised.
The Sacred One is high above all nations,
with glory above the heavens.
Sacred One, the idea of You is forever -
Sacred One, the memory of You through the generations.
The Sacred One has established a “throne” in the heavens -
and a majesty that rules over all.
Let the heavens be glad, and the earth rejoice;
and let the nations say, ‘The Sacred One has reigned!’.
The Sacred One Reigns, the Sacred One will reign forever and ever!
The Sacred One reigns for ever and ever -
the nations have perished from the land.
The Sacred One nullifies the counsel of the nations -
frustrates the schemes of the people.
Take counsel together, and it shall come to nothing;
speak the word, and it will not stand; for God is with us.
There are many plans in ones heart;
but the counsel of the Sacred One will stand.
The counsel of the Sacred One stands forever,
heartfelt thoughts through the generations.
For the One spoke, and it was done -
the One instructed, and it stood firm.
For the Sacred One has chosen Siyon -
and desires it for a habitation.
For the Sacred One has chosen Ya`aqov, and Yisrael for a treasure.
For the Sacred One will not abandon the people,
nor will the inheritance be forsaken.
“And the One who is full of compassion,
forgiving of iniquity, and does not destroy;
often turning away anger,
and not stirring up all its wrath”. (Tehilim 78:38)
Save, Sacred One; the ruler will answer us on the day we call!

Fortunate are those who dwell in your house,
ever continually praising you! (Tehilim 84:5)
Fortunate is the people to whom this is so,
fortunate is the people
whose God is the Sacred One! (Tehilim 144:15)
A psalm of praise by Dawid (Tehilim 145):
I will hold You in the highest esteem, my ruling God,
and I will appreciate the idea of You for all eternity.
Every day I will appreciate You;
and I will praise the idea of You for all eternity.
Great is the Sacred One, and to be praised greatly -
with a greatness that is beyond comprehension.
Your deeds will be praised through the generations,
and Your mighty acts will be retold.
I will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty,
and about Your wonders.
And they will speak of the might of your awesome acts -
and I will declare your greatness.
They will utter the memory of Your great goodness,
and sing joyfully of Your righteousness.
The Sacred One is gracious and full of compassion -
long tempered, and of great kindness.
The Sacred One is good to all -
with deeds that are completely merciful.
All Your creation will praise You, Sacred One -
and Your pious ones will express appreciation for You.
They will speak of the glory of Your majesty,
and talk of Your power;
To inform the people of the mighty acts of the One,
and the glorious splendor of Its majesty.
Your majesty extends through all worlds,
and Your dominion through the generations.
The Sacred One supports all those who fall,
and straightens all who are hunched over.
The eyes of all wait upon You -
and You give them their food at the right time.
You open Your “hand”, and satisfy the desire of all life.
The Sacred One is righteous in every way,
and gracious in all deeds.
The Sacred One is near to all who call,
to all who call upon the One in truth.
The desire of the reverent ones will be fulfilled;
their cry will be heard, and they will be saved.
All who love the Sacred One are preserved;
while all the wicked will be destroyed.
My mouth will speak the praise of the Sacred One;
for all eternity, all flesh will appreciate the sacred idea of the One.

Siddur Part 4 Shir HaMa`aloth

“Songs of Uplifting”:

Psalm 120
A Song of Uplifting .
In my distress I cried to the Sacred One, and was answered.
Sacred One, save my soul from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.
What will be given to you?
What will be done to you, deceitful tongue?
Sharp mighty arrows, with blazing cinders of wood.
Woe unto me, for my drawn out journey,
I dwelled with those in the tents of Kedar!
My soul has long dwelt with those who hate peace.
I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war.

Psalm 121
A Song of Uplifting . I will lift up my eyes to the mountains.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Sacred One,
Who made heaven and earth.
Never allowing your foot to falter -
your Guardian will not slumber.
Behold, the Guardian of Yisrael neither slumbers nor sleeps.
The Sacred One is your keeper -
the Sacred One is your shade upon your right hand.
The sun will not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.
The Sacred One will preserve you from all evil -
and preserve your soul.
The Sacred One will preserve your going out and your coming in -
from now until forever.

Psalm 122
A Song of Uplifting, by Dawid. I was glad when they said to me,
‘Let us go to the house of the Sacred One’.
Our feet stood inside your gates, Yerushalayim.
Yerushalayim is built as a city which is bound firmly together;
There the tribes went up, the tribes of God,
as a testimony for Yisrael,
to give thanks to the idea of the Sacred One.
For thrones of judgment were set there,
the thrones of the house of Dawid.
Pray for the peace of Yerushalayim -
those who love you will prosper.
May there be peace within your walls,
and prosperity within your palaces.
For the sake of my brothers and friends, I will now say, be in peace.
For the sake of the house of the Sacred One our God,
I will seek goodness for you..

Psalm 123
A Song of Uplifting. I lifted up my eyes to You,
You who dwells in the heavens.
Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters,
and as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress;
so our eyes wait upon the Sacred One our God,
until God will be gracious to us.
Be gracious to us, Sacred One, be gracious to us -
for we are overfilled with contempt.
Our soul is overfilled with the scorn of those who are at ease,
and with the contempt of the arrogant.

Psalm 124
A Song of Uplifting, of Dawid.
If the Sacred One had not been with us, let Yisrael now say;
If the Sacred One had not been with us,
when men rose up against us;
Then they would have swallowed us up alive,
when their wrath was kindled against us;
Then the waters would have overwhelmed us,
the current would have surged across our soul;
Then the treacherous waters would have surged across our soul.
The Sacred One is appreciated,
who has not given us as a prey for their teeth.
Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the trappers;
the snare has broken, and we have escaped.
Our help is in the idea of the Sacred One,
Who made heaven and earth!

Psalm 125
A Song of Uplifting.
Those who trust in the Sacred One are like Mount Siyon,
which cannot falter, but abides for ever.
As the mountains surround Yerushalayim,
so the Sacred One surrounds the people; from now until forever.
For the rod of wickedness will not rest upon the lot of the righteous;
in order that the righteous put forth their hands to do wrong.
Sacred One, do good to those who are good,
and to those who are upright in their hearts.
And for those who turn to their crooked ways,
the Sacred One will lead them with those who do evil;
peace upon Yisrael!

Psalm 126
A Song of Uplifting.
When the Sacred One returns the captives of Siyon,
we will have been like dreamers.
Then our mouth will be filled with laughter,
and our tongue with joyful singing;
then they will say among the nations,
‘The Sacred One has done great things for them’.
The Sacred One has done great things for us; we are joyful!
Bring back our captives, Sacred One, like the streams of the Negev.
Those who sow in tears will reap in joyful song.
One who goes forth weeping, bearing the seed for sowing;
will come back with shouts of joy; with sheaves to bring in.

Psalm 127
A Song of Uplifting for Shelomo.
Unless the Sacred One builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain;
unless the Sacred One watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain.
It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late,
to eat the bread of toil -
for truly God gives sleep to the beloved.
Behold, children are a heritage of the Sacred One -
and the fruit of the womb is a reward.
As arrows are in the hand of the mighty; so are the children of youth.
Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them -
they will not be put to shame,
when they speak with the enemies in the gate.

Psalm 128
A Song of Uplifting. Fortunate are all who fear the Sacred One -
who walk in the ways of God.
When you eat the labor of your hands -
you will be fortunate, and it will be well with you.
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine in the chambers of your house -
your children like olive shoots around your table.
Behold, so will the man be blessed who fears the Sacred One.
May the Sacred One bless you from Siyon -
and you will see the goodness of Yerushalayim -
all the days of your life.
And you will see your children’s children, peace upon Yisrael.

Psalm 129
A Song of Uplifting.
They have often troubled me from my youth, let Yisrael now say;
They have often troubled me from my youth -
yet they have not prevailed against me.
The plowers plowed upon my back; they made their furrows long.
The Sacred One is righteous; and has cut the cords of the wicked.
May all who hate Siyon be put to shame and turned away.
Let them be like the grass on the rooftops,
which withers before it is plucked;
With which the reaper does not fill his hand -
nor one who binds sheaves his arm.
And those who pass by do not say,
“May the blessing of the Sacred One be upon you;
we request blessings for you in the name of the Sacred One.”

Psalm 130
A Song of Uplifting. I called to You from the depths, Sacred One.
My Master, hear my voice -
may You listen attentively to the sound of my pleas.
If You, God, preserve iniquities, my Master, who could stand?
But there is forgiveness with You; that You may be revered.
I wait for the Sacred One, my soul waits,
and I hope in the word of the One.
My soul longs for the Sacred One
more than those who long for the morning, who long for the morning.
Let Yisrael hope for the Sacred One -
for with the Sacred One there is kindness,
and there is much redemption with the One.
And the One will redeem Yisrael; from all its iniquities.

Psalm 131
A Song of Uplifting by Dawid.
Sacred One, my heart was not proud, nor my eyes lofty;
nor did I pursue matters too great or wondrous for me.
I have surely behaved and quieted my soul,
like a nursing child with its mother; my soul is like a nursing child.
Let Yisrael hope in the Sacred One from now until forever.

Psalm 132
A Song of Uplifting. Sacred One,
remember in Dawid’s favor all his suffering;
How he swore to the Sacred One,
and vowed to the mighty One of Ya`aqov;
Surely I will not come into the tent of my house,
nor get into the bed that is made for me;
I will not give sleep to my eyes, or slumber to my eyelids,
Until I find out a place for the Sacred One,
tabernacles for the mighty One of Ya`aqov.
Behold, we heard of it at Ephratha -
we found it in the fields of Ya`ar;
We will go into the tabernacles of the One -
we will prostrate at the footstool.
Arise, Sacred One, to Your resting place -
You, and the ark of Your might.
Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness -
and let your pious ones sing with joy.
For the sake of Dawid your servant,
do not turn away the face of your anointed.
The Sacred One has sworn in truth to Dawid -
and will not turn from it -
“Of the fruit of your loins I will set upon your throne”.
If your children keep my covenant
and my testimony that I teach them,
their children will also sit upon your throne forever.
For the Sacred One has chosen Siyon -
and desired it for a habitation.
This is my resting place forever -
here I will dwell; for I have desired it.
I will abundantly bless her provision -
I will satisfy her poor with bread.
I will also clothe her priests with salvation -
and her pious ones will sing ever joyfully.
There I will cause the pride of Dawid to sprout -
I have prepared a lamp for My anointed.
I will clothe his enemies with shame -
but upon him, his crown will shine.

Psalm 133
A Song of Uplifting, by Dawid.
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
for siblings to dwell together in unity!
Like the precious oil upon the head, that runs down upon the beard,
Aaron’s beard, that runs down to the hem of his garments.
Like the dew of Hermon descending upon the mountains of Siyon;
for there the Sacred One has instructed the blessing,
let there be life forever!

Psalm 134
A Song of Uplifting. Behold, express appreciation to the Sacred One,
all you servants of the Sacred One,
who stand in the house of the Sacred One by night.
Lift up your hands in the sanctuary,
and express appreciation to the Sacred One.
May the Sacred One who made heaven and earth
bless you from Siyon!

the ruler who is extolled in praises.

On Shabboth and Yom HaKippurim
some also have the custom to recite Psalm 92.

On Shabboth, some have the custom to recite
“The Great Hallel” and some to recite “Songs of Uplifting”.

Psalm 92
A psalm, a song for the day of Shabbath.
It is good to give thanks to the Sacred One,
and to sing praises to the idea of You, the Most High!
To declare your kindness in the morning,
and Your faithfulness every night,
Upon an instrument with ten strings,
and upon the lyre, to the melody of the harp.
For You, Sacred One, have made me glad through Your work -
at Your handiwork I will sing with joy.
How great are your works, Sacred One!
So very deep are Your thoughts!
A boor does not know; nor can a fool understand this.
When the wicked spring up like grass,
and all the doers of evil flourish -
it will be that they are forever destroyed.
But you, Sacred One, are exalted forever.
For behold, your enemies Sacred One,
for behold, your enemies will perish -
all those who do evil will be scattered.
But you will raise my pride like the horned creature -
I will be anointed with fresh oil.
My eye has seen the downfall of my enemies,
and my ears have heard the doom
of the wicked who rise up against me.
The righteous will flourish like the palm tree -
and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Those that are planted in the house of the Sacred One
will flourish in the courts of our God.
They will still be fruitful in old age; they will be vigorous and fresh;
To declare that the Sacred One is just -
my stronghold, in Whom there is no wrong.

Psalm 136 - “The Great Hallel”
Give thanks to the Sacred One who is so good -
Whose kindness is forever!
Give thanks to the God of all powers -
Whose kindness is forever!
Give thanks to the Master of masters -
Whose kindness is forever!
For working great wonders alone -
Whose kindness is forever!
For making the heavens by understanding -
Whose kindness is forever!
For stretching out the earth above the waters -
Whose kindness is forever!
For making great luminaries -
Whose kindness is forever;
The sun to rule by day -
Whose kindness is forever;
The moon and the stars to rule by night -
Whose kindness is forever!
For striking Misrayim through their firstborn -
Whose kindness is forever;
And bringing out Yisrael from among them -
Whose kindness is forever;
With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm -
Whose kindness is forever!
For parting the Reed Sea -
Whose kindness is forever;
And made Yisrael pass through its midst -
Whose kindness is forever;
And threw Pharaoh and his army in the Reed Sea -
Whose kindness is forever;
For leading its people through the wilderness -
Whose kindness is forever;
For striking great kings -
Whose kindness is forever;
And slew mighty kings -
Whose kindness is forever;
SiHon king of the Amorites -
Whose kindness is forever;
And Og the king of Bashan -
Whose kindness is forever;
And gave their land for a heritage -
Whose kindness is forever;
A heritage to Yisrael its servant -
Whose kindness is forever!
Who remembered us in our lowliness -
Whose kindness is forever;
And has redeemed us from our enemies -
Whose kindness is forever!
Who gives nourishment to all flesh -
Whose kindness is forever!
Give thanks to the God of heaven -
Whose kindness is forever!
