Siddur Part 17 Birkhath HaMazon

Before eating bread:

(Wash hands, pointing upwards after)

Appreciated! You are the Sacred One our God, Ruler of all existence,
the One who brings bread forth from the earth!

After eating bread:
(Wash hands until the wrist,
pointing downwards after)

- The 1st declaration (from Moshe):
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One our God, Ruler of all existence,
The nourisher of the whole world
with goodness, kindness and compassion.
And Whose great goodness is not lacking to us,
and will never ever be lacking to us,
for God nourishes and sustains all;
as it says, "You open Your Hand
and satisfy the desire of all life," (Psalm 145:16)
and prepare nourishment for all beings that were created.
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One, the nourisher of all!

The 2nd declaration (from Yehoshu`a):
We thank You Sacred One our God,
and we appreciate You our Ruler;
for You apportioned to our ancestors a desirable,
good, and spacious land; the covenant, and the Tora;
and for Your having taken us out of the land of Misrayim,
and having redeemed us from the institution of slavery;
and for the Tora that You taught us
and for the statutes of Your will of which You informed us.
For everything, Sacred One our God,
we thank You and appreciate the idea of You;
as it says: "And you ate, and you were satisfied,
and you expressed your appreciation to the Sacred One your God;
for the good land that you have been given." (Devarim 8:10)
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One,
for the land and for the nourishment!

The 3rd declaration (from Dawid and Shelomo):
Have compassion, Sacred One our God, upon Your people Yisrael,
and on Yerushalayim Your city,
and on Siyon the dwelling of Your glory;
and on the great and sacred house
that the idea of You is called upon,
and return the kingdom of the house
of Dawid Your anointed to its place, in our days.

On Shabbath:
Our God and the God of our ancestors,
have favor and give us rest through Your instructions
and through the instruction of this seventh day,
and may we be rested and content on it as instructed by Your will
so there will be no distress or grief on this day of our contentment.

and build Yerushalayim soon, as You have spoken.
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One,
compassionately building Yerushalayim! Amen!

The 4th declaration (from the Sages of the Mishna):
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One our God, Ruler of all existence,
the God, our parent, our Ruler, our mighty One,
our Creator, our sacred One, the sacred One of Ya`aqov;
the Ruler Who is good and makes good;
Who in each and every day bestows
grace and kindness and compassion upon us, and all goodness.
May the Compassionate One be praised
for generations and generations!
May the Compassionate One be glorified for eternity of eternities!
May the Compassionate One honorably sustain us!
May the Compassionate One grant us the days of the anointed,
and the building of the House of Sacredness,
and the life of the coming world!
A reigning tower of salvation,
and performing kindness for the anointed,
for Dawid and to his offspring forever.
“Young lions roar and hunger,
but those who seek the Sacred One
will not lack any good”. (Tehillim 34:11)
Give thanks to the Sacred One, Who is good;
Whose kindness is forever! (Tehillim 136:1)

Before wine or grapes:
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One our God, Ruler of all existence,
creating the fruit of the vine!

Before foods containing the five grains:
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One our God, Ruler of all existence,
creating all kinds of foods!

After foods containing the five grains:
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One our God, Ruler of all existence,
for the nourishment and the sustenance,
and for the desirable, good and spacious land
willingly bestowed to our ancestors.
Have mercy, Sacred One our God on Yerushalayim Your city
and on Siyon, the resting place of Your glory,
and bring us up into it, and we will rejoice in its building,
and express our appeciation to You upon it
in sacredness and in purity;
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One,
for the land and for the nourishment!

Before eating fruits from trees:
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One our God, Ruler of all existence,
creating the fruit of the tree!

Before vegetables or fruits from the ground:
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One our God, Ruler of all existence,
creating the fruit of the ground!

Before meat, cheese, fish, liquids:
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One our God, Ruler of all existence,
by Whose word everything came to be.

After fruits, vegetables, meat, cheese, liquids:
Appreciated! You are the Sacred One our God, Ruler of all existence,
Creator of numerous living things, for all that God has created,
Life of the worlds.
